Dru was born in Lynchburg, South Carolina and is the youngest daughter out of eight siblings.  She is a graduate of Columbia College and resides in Columbia, SC with her two beautiful and talented children.   Dru spends most of her time working with her children's community projects and caring for her children.  She is an officer's wife who wrote this book in 2015 prior to her husband’s death; however, Dru decided to publish the book five years later.   She is a child of God and believes that God's has orchestrated her path from the day of her marriage till today.  Dru believes her mental strength and faith are the two factors as to how she survives.  Dru's favorite quotes are from the late phenomenal woman, Maya Angelou.
